Shipping Policies
ChocoSol takes great pride and joy in producing some of Toronto's most ethical, sustainable, nutritious, and delicious bean-to-bar chocolate. We take the same pride in doing our best to ensure our products arrive to you quickly and in perfect condition.
Please note our following Shipping Policies:
- Due to the scheduling of our shipping partners, we cannot ship packages out over the weekends or national holidays. Orders placed after noon on Thursdays will be shipped the following week. *Please keep this in mind if you are placing an order with ICS-Next Day delivery.
- In addition to the selected delivery time at checkout, we require 3-5 business days to process and pack all orders. Trust us, it's worth the wait!
- We try our best, but ChocoSol cannot guarantee our products will arrive in perfect condition. Our online order fulfillment uses paper and heat-protective wrapping to protect our products on their journey to you. However, some products are more susceptible to heat-related damage (blooming) than others. Please refer to point 5 below for heat and weather conditions. We do not use dry ice when shipping our product.
- Once your package has left our shop, we unfortunately have no control over damages and delays. Any damages incurred during shipping should be reported to the shipping company. Refunds will not be given for shipping delays or damage caused by inclement weather, package refusal, or incomplete or incorrect delivery address.
- ChocoSol may delay shipping during extreme weather and heatwave (>25℃) conditions to prevent damage to our products. We will ship your order once the weather allows, typically after three consecutive days of low temperatures in the forecast (5-7 days for international orders). Visit our FAQ to learn about the best ways to store your chocolate and to get some tips on what to do with heat-affected bars!
- Shipping fees: Shipping fees are determined by shipping companies and are therefore largely out of our control. Because of this, many ChocoSol customers find placing large orders the most cost-effective way to buy our products, especially since our chocolate is shelf-stable and has a recommended best-before date of 5-6 months!
- Cancellations and order changes: Unfortunately, we cannot cancel or modify an order once it has been picked up by the shipping company. If you have not yet received a shipping confirmation notice, please email us at onlinestore@chocosoltraders.com to cancel or modify your order.
- For packaged delivered to USA destinations, Chocosol reserves the right to utilize up to 10 business days from the date an order is placed to fulfill and deliver the order. Please note that FDA requirements and approvals take time and we do our best to deliver in a timely and safe fashion.
Our Shipping Options:
ChocoSol provides customers with a variety of ways to have our products shipped. Please read the information below about our shipping options and partners so you can select the best method for you.
GTA, Canada, and Continental U.S.
At checkout, select delivery via Canada Post, UPS, Purolator, or FedEx.
For P.O. boxes Canada Post is the only option available.
Additionally, ChocoSol offers free shipping for Canadian destination orders over $150.00 before tax.
Please note: Packages sent with free shipping automatically require a signature for delivery. This helps to prevent lost or stolen packages.
Local Delivery / Trexity
For customers located in Toronto or the GTA, Trexity is a fast, same-day local delivery service that should be available at check-out. The average shipping cost for a Trexity delivery is $8.00, and customers will receive a "proof of delivery" photo once their package has been delivered! Delivery pricing ranges based on destination and may average $8 to $15 per delivery.
Please note: We are working to expand this delivery option but currently can only offer it to a limited number of areas. Orders are typically delivered from Tuesday through Friday, however can take up to 4-6 business days to arrive.
Farmers' Market Pick Up
ChocoSol offers free pick-up at our regular farmers’ markets! Order online and visit us at your selected Saturday morning market to pick up your order! We offer pick-up at the following locations:
- Evergreen Brickworks - Saturdays
- Wychwood Barns - Saturdays
- Sorauren Market - Monday
- St. Lawrence Market, boutique side location - Tuesday to Sunday
- Leslieville Market - Sunday (seasonal)
At checkout, select "Pick Up" as your shipping option. In the notes section of your order, please indicate your preferred market for pickup, or send us an email with your order number and which farmer's market you'd like to pickup.
Please note: All orders must be in by Wednesday at noon in order to be packaged and delivered to our weekend farmers' markets. Orders placed after this cutoff will be delivered to the farmers' market the following week.
Free In-Store Pick Up*
You can pick up your order from our 1131 St. Clair West storefront! Our hours for pick-up at this location are Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
*Please wait for an email confirmation after placing your order prior to picking up based on your chosen destination.
Please note: We ask for a minimum of 24-48 hours to pack St. Clair W. pick-up orders. However, you can email or call us at (416)-923-6675 to see if we can accommodate same-day pick-up for your order!
