At ChocoSol, we believe good coffee begins long before it reaches your cup.
It begins in the forest garden — in healthy soil, biodiversity, careful cultivation, and the many hands that steward these ecosystems over generations. It begins in the relationships we build with producers and communities who grow coffee in ways that prioritize long-term ecological balance over short-term extraction.
As of September 1st, 2026, all 340g bags of ChocoSol coffee will increase by $1, while the 1kg Oaxaca Profundo bag will increase by $4.
This decision was not made lightly. While this is a relatively small change, we know that rising costs impact everyone, and we deeply appreciate the continued support of our customers, cafés, retailers, and community members as we navigate these changes together.
Coffee prices globally have been increasing significantly due to climate instability, supply chain pressures, and rising production costs. At the same time, we remain committed to sourcing coffee in a way that reflects the true value of the labour, ecological stewardship, and knowledge involved in producing it.

At ChocoSol, our coffee is not treated as a commodity.
Our Forest Garden Coffee collection is sourced directly from Indigenous and smallholder farming communities in Oaxaca, Mexico, where coffee is cultivated within biodiverse agroforestry systems alongside cacao, fruit trees, medicinal plants, and native species. These forest gardens help protect soil health, strengthen climate resilience, support pollinators and wildlife, and create more sustainable livelihoods for farming communities.
This way of growing coffee takes time, care, and long-term investment. We believe that paying prices that truly reflect the realities of ecological cultivation is essential if we want to support a food system rooted in regeneration rather than extraction.
Beyond sourcing, we continue to roast our coffee locally in Toronto in small batches, prioritizing freshness, quality, and low-waste production practices wherever possible. Like all of our work at ChocoSol, our coffee program is guided by the belief that food should nourish not only people, but also the ecosystems and communities that make it possible.
